Alpha Phi Leadership Conference
This last weekend I was given the opportunity to participate in the Alpha Phi leadership conference on behalf of the Theta Sigma chapter. What I love about this fraternity is the experience that you receive far beyond what happens within your chapter. There are so many opportunities to grow as a leader and to better yourself as a woman all while falling in love with this organization even more. This Western Leadership Conference was the second conference I have attended with Alpha Phi and it was truly an experience. It was held in Irvine California (such a beautiful place) and it was around 2 days long. Throughout the weekend we went to different sessions tailored to our positions, so I went to all sessions that had to do with Programming & Education. Let's just say that I took more notes during these 45 minute sessions than I have all semester during class. I cannot wait to bring back the ideas that I learned to my chapter to help it grow to the best that it can be!
It was such an amazing experience to learn about Alpha Phi with the women that I currently serve on the executive council with. Aside from all of the learning and long days in sessions, we managed to have some fun because we are Alpha Phi's and that's what we do!
We laughed at the little things (mostly because we were delusional), spent way too much money on merchandise (especially water bottles) & got to enjoy the finer things in life (the beach & decent food). The best part about this weekend was bonding with the EC and with one of our advisers Kady. I will never forget the creaky door, pouring water on the creaky door & injuring Kady while pouring water on the creaky door. I will never forget dancing/jumping on the bed Sunday morning out of pure excitement for the beach or when the international president made a slipup during our final dinner. It was the most perfect weekend of leadership & of sisterhood. Just one of the many experiences brought to me through Alpha Phi
