I often get asked, why are you in a sorority? And quite honestly, I sometimes have a hard time answering this question. People say I pay for my friends, or that all sorority girls are these blonde, ditzy, boy crazed partiers. (& let me just say, never, ever tell someone in a Greek organization that they pay for their friends. It won't end very well) All of this, very untrue. There are so many different components to Greek Life that it is hard to answer this question simply. Philanthropy. Sisterhood. Leadership. Loyalty. Scholarship. When I first rushed a sorority in 2012, never did I think that it would impact my life the way that it has. I have made lifelong friends that will be standing next to me as bridesmaids on my wedding day, I have traveled to multiple places in the United States to learn more about leadership and how to better myself as a woman, I am constantly pushed to be a better person and to live by our 6 values. Yes we fight & yes there is drama at times, but we work through it and become stronger woman with the support of each other. As cliche as it sounds, this decision has been the best I have made thus far in my college career. These girls are not only my sisters but also my best friends. & quite honestly, I would be lost without every single one of them. Throughout this blog you will see some experiences that I have had thus far in Greek Life and hopefully after reading, you will get a little bit more of an understanding as to what Greek Life is about and specfically why all of us 'sorority girls' are so obsessed. AOE.
